Model Cars

This is something that I have done for a really long time. It has died off in the past few years but I'll pick it up again one day. These cars require a lot of time and patience along with a very steady hand.

I've built roughly a dozen cars over the years, some of them didn't turn out too well (the early ones) and others were given away as gifts to friends and family.

The kits can be purchased for around $20 each from hobby shops or even places like Zellers and Wal-Mart. To ensure that the model doesn't come out looking like a spatula left on a hot oven I'd suggest anyone trying this stuff to give it lots of room and time.

The trickiest and most unforgiving part of model cars is the painting. The best idea is to glue together what you can, let it dry (thoroughly) and then paint it with lots of thin coats. The interior parts can forgive you at times but the body of the car needs to be spray painted and sanded a few times and then sprayed with a few layers of clear coat. Then you need to glue it the rest of the body. That part is not fun.

I'd suggest if you like intricate details and challenges to give it a try.
